So I won’t stutter like a moron the next time I’m asked “what do you want for Christmas/your birthday?” and eventually just say “I don’t really know” — not because I don’t know what I want, but because I don’t know how to ask for things that I want.

Links are provided for reference only; you can find most of this stuff in a broad variety of places. I’m just providing the link so you can see what this stuff looks like if you’re not familiar with the product. I’m very art supplies- and book-oriented at this point.

Prismacolor colored pencils. These have a retail price anywhere from a buck fifty for an individual pencil to a few hundred dollars for a huge wooden case with 132 different colors, and literally all price points in between. You can get ridiculous deals on Prismacolor sets on eBay, around 30-50 cents a pencil for most of the sets. You can find the 120-color sets for less than $70, shipped, and the 132-color sets for around $90 if you find the right auctions. Prismacolor has a couple of lines of pencils — their Premier line; a series of pencils with thinner, harder cores called Verithin; and water-soluable watercolor pencils. I use the Premier pencils.
