Router at home is being difficult; it’s a Linksys router from Target, and for some reason it is not assigning IP addresses to my laptops. IPad works fine; PS3 seems to be working fine; iPod works fine. It’s just the laptops that aren’t connecting correctly. Will check router configuration later I guess. Bah. On the [...]
Yesterday morning, my iPad finally arrived (one day ahead of the date given me at the time of the second shipping delay; minor victory?). I spent most of yesterday downloading apps and attempting to get things correctly set up – user accounts and preferences entered, apps arranged on screen in a manner I could easily [...]
First – AARRRRGGGGGHHHHH. On April 14, I ordered an iPad through our computer store here on campus. It was supposed to be here on May 3. Then it was delayed until May 17. So yesterday, I checked to see if it was still on schedule. Nope. Delayed until June 3. Lame. The timing of this [...]
My Vaja case for my iPod Touch arrived today; it’s beautiful. Thrilled to have it; I’m really glad I took the extra time and expense to get what I wanted and not just what was readily available locally. This case is awesome.
I don’t even have mine yet (this week, hopefully), so it’s hard to get too worked up over these “why the iPad sucks” posts that seem to be everywhere now. This one popped up on an eWeek update I got today; it’s from last Thursday (April 22): 10 Reasons Why an iPad Is Not For [...]
I was planning for tonight to be another computer programming night at home; read some stuff, write some code, try to get some more things working. But I need to take a day off from that after spending hours yesterday trying to solve a compiler linking issue that should be trivial. My brain still hurts. [...]
http://iphone.andybartlett.com/?p=19 I’m actually making progress, and this is proof! I made it and it worked; and to get it to work I figured out something that was broken and I hacked it. Success!

So, for the time being, I’m going to pretend to take this iPhone development thing seriously. As such, I have started a separate blog for all ‘stuff’ related to that so I can keep it in one place and not spam up this blog with posts (assuming there are posts, that is). So, visit it [...]
As I write this, iTunes is in the process of downloading several gigs worth of iPhone development classes from iTunes U; I’m downloading courses from Stanford and Cal Davis and a podcast series from the iPhone Programming Association at the University of Utah. I think I’ll start with the Stanford course. We’ll see how this [...]
When you get some new electronic hotness, like I did on Sunday when Melissa hooked me up with an eight-gig second-generation iPod Touch for an early birthday present, well, you need a case to carry it around in. I looked for cases at Target today, and for between $20 and $35 I could buy plastic [...]
